Crisis Response Program Aided by St. Tammany Parish Deputy Sheriff's Association

On Monday, September 12, Sgt. Trinity Graves, on behalf of the St. Tammany Deputy Sheriff's Association, presented Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans with a donation of $1,500, which will help the organization provide lifesaving crisis response services across the Parish. The money was raised at the second annual St. Tammany Parish Suicide Awareness Golf Tournament at Oak Harbor Gold Club on August 6, 2016. The event also benefitted St. Tammany Outreach for the Prevention of Suicide (S.T.O.P.S.).

More than 470 St. Tammany Parish families have been devastated by suicides since 2002, and Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans has handled 2,700 crisis response calls in St. Tammany Parish since it started the program in 2011.

"We are dedicated to decreasing the instance of suicide in our community and are so thankful to Sgt. Trinity Graves and his team for helping us provide lifesaving crisis response services," says Ty Bartel, Program Director for Volunteer of America Greater New Orleans' North Shore Services.
