Jesse Tauzier, a lifelong resident of the Greater New Orleans area, drove off in his 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250, a prize from the Volunteers of America GolfStar Classic raffle.  The Tauziers bought a raffle ticket from Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans to support the adoption program based on a recommendation from their daughter, Darlene.   Darlene’s friend at work adopted her daughter many years ago from Volunteers of America and still supports the program through volunteering.

Jesse, an Army veteran, started his career at the American Can Company, finally retiring from the U.S. Postal Service.  The Tauziers’ daughters recounted many times that their parents took care of relatives, worked multiple jobs, and often gave to those less fortunate. “He has always done good things for others. He really deserves to win something that he would never buy for himself,” said his family.

About Volunteers of America

Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. Since 1896, our ministry of service has supported and empowered America's most vulnerable groups, including at-risk youth, the frail elderly, men returning from prison, people with disabilities, and those recovering from addictions. Our work touches the mind, body, heart-and ultimately the spirit-of those we serve, integrating our deep compassion with highly effective programs and services.
