New Orleans, LA (February 10, 2015) – Grab your clubs to help children find their forever families.  The GolfStar Classic tees off Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at TPC Louisiana to benefit Volunteers of America’s Adoption Program.  Once again this year’s golfers and non-golfers alike will be treated to a day of fun and excitement with great food, a fabulous silent auction and the opportunity to win a 2015 Mercedes CLA250.

“We would like to thank our presenting sponsor of the 23rd annual GolfStar Classic, Jay Trusheim, for his support.  It is through the efforts of our sponsors, golfers, donors and volunteers that we are able to continue to create forever families,” shares Jim LeBlanc, President and CEO of Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans. “There is really no better feeling than the moment we help unite an adoptive family with the child they have so desperately longed for, and this tournament makes moments like that possible.”

As a licensed adoption agency for over 70 years, Volunteers of America is a respected pioneer in issues such as open adoption. The Adoption Program works with both women facing unplanned pregnancies and with married couples struggling with fertility, and has united thousands of forever families over the decades.  The Volunteers of America GolfStar Classic is the sole fundraiser benefiting the Adoption Program and has gained a reputation as a leading regional charity tournament across southeast Louisiana.

Registration is available for individual players, foursomes, sponsors and event volunteers at www.voagno.org.  Registration fees for the GolfStar Classic include cart rental, greens fee, breakfast and lunch, a golf shirt, golf balls, award reception and prizes.  Raffle tickets to win a 2015 Mercedes CLA250 are available for $50 at www.voagno.org or by calling (504) 486-8662.  Only 1,500 tickets will be sold and the winner need not be present to claim prize.  All proceeds from the tournament and raffle will benefit the Adoption Program.
Event sponsors include presenting sponsor Jay Trusheim Prudential Financial Professional, offering P&C through Liberty Mutual Insurance, along with Fore!Kids Foundation, TPC Louisiana, The New Orleans Advocate and Mercedes-Benz of New Orleans.
