RSVP Volunteer Reads to Students on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

RSVP Volunteer Fred Bruce visited Chahta-Ima Elementary School in Lacombe to read a story about Martin Luther King, Jr. to four classes of kindergarten students to commemorate King and his important contributions to civil rights. King led the successful movement for nonviolent activism to protest racial discrimination in Federal and State law.

The book was titled Happy Birthday Martin Luther King by Jean Marzollo. The students were very attentive and quiet as Fred read to them. One student commented that it was a “nice book.” Fred did a wonderful job, and the students were excited to have him visit their class and read a story.
