Educating young people to WAIT!
The WAIT! program is committed to educating young people through fun, evidence-based curriculum, and mentoring. The goal of the program is to educate youth on how to refrain from non-marital sexual activity and teach the benefits associated with self-regulation, success sequencing for poverty prevention, healthy relationships, and goal setting. We partner with schools, churches, and community organizations to provide services to nearly 3,000 youth in eight parishes of southeast Louisiana.
The curriculum is to evidence based with activities, real life relationship scenarios that also incorporates music, music videos, films, and stories that affords the opportunity for youth to interact with a strengths-based approach within a Positive Youth Development framework. Group mentoring and group activities will be a part of program sharing opportunities for motivational speakers to help empower our youth.
